Difficult Fun publishes one piece of music writing every Sunday morning. The site is currently on hiatus and will hopefully return later in 2019.

Focusing on acts based in Australia, the platform circulates longform music writing, reviews and interviews from a range of writers, encompassing a variety of genres, styles and writing forms.

The pieces are thoughtful, critical, accessible and perceptive: Difficult Fun is ultimately an exercise in accommodating more experiment, integrity and credibility in Australian music writing and reviewing. It’s a more expansive understanding of music than what most publications covering music allow. It offers perceptive narratives of the music being made across Australia today.
